Brick Fence White Stain
HOA has noticed that there are white stains on our brick fence. The white spots are efflorescence, a crust that developes when water laden with mineral salts moves through the bricks and evaporates, leaving salt crystals behind. It looks ugly but usually doesn't cause any damage.
HOA has pressure washed all brick walls earlier this July which removes most of the white stains. However due the fact that efflorescence is a constant and continuous process, it is not supprised to see the white stains come back again later. HOA will evaulate the pressure wash results end of the year and consider other methods such as using chemical.
